Looky’s LegacyLucas ‘Looky’ Martin
Looky’s Lounge Bar is named in memory of Lucas ‘Looky’ Martin, whose family have a long association with the Palace Group. Tragically, Lucas died from meningitis in September 2023 at the age of 21 having just graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in International Business.
Lucas was an inspirational character and his mantra in life was ‘give it loads!’. He was much loved by his family and friends, and he touched the lives of so many others with his infectious smile and his unquenchable enthusiasm. He would love the idea that a vibrant new hospitality venue has been named after him, particularly as he enjoyed working behind the bar at the Palace in his summer holidays!
Lucas’s CharityLooky’s Aid
To preserve Lucas’s positive legacy and help others to aspire to his values, the Martin family have created ‘Looky’s Aid’, a charity focussed on helping underprivileged and disadvantaged young people to rise above the challenges that they face. With the right financial and pastoral support, adversity can be replaced by opportunity and more young people can have a chance to ‘give it loads!’.
